The DevOps Engineer combines an understanding of both IT infrastructure and software engineering. Works in conjunction with the Developers, Operations and QA teams to ensure the quality, reliability, stability, and security of IT systems in a cost-effective manner. Also works with various departments to create and develop software environments within the company. An ability to balance various aspects of a project, including complex issues such as programming, CI pipelines, and environment maintenance. Upholds the mission and values established by CastleBranch.

Job Responsibilities

  • Interacts, develops, engineers, and communicates collaboratively at the highest technical levels with clients, vendors, partners, and all levels of staff.
  • Implements and maintains Infrastructure as Code (IaC) repositories.
  • Continuously improves the environment tiers.
  • Maintains stable and reliable environment tiers.
  • Implements the software continuous integration process.
  • Maintains and manages environmental dependencies.
  • Provides technical support for environment related issues to members of the Development team.
  • Assists the Engineering and Infrastructure teams in resolving environment issues when needed.
  • Improves the efficiency of the CI pipelines, environments, and deployments where possible.
  • All other duties as assigned relative to job function.


  • Bachelor's degree in Programming/Systems or Computer Science or other related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Exhibits proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Python, PHP, or other object-oriented languages.
  • Knowledge of RedHat OpenShift or Kubernetes is required.
